I believe the original idea came from Yrael, but here is one of the primary mutant skills we're working on. Feel free to add your own ideas for new abilities!
Three abilities for each category of differing levels. Each ability costs "points" which are gained with ranks in the main ability "DNA Manipulation". Each rank, of 15, gives one manipulation point which is required to activate the abilities. Point requirements for each ability are based the level of the ability, on average between 1-3 points. This allows the player to choose different abilities to have active at any one time, but with an overall strength limit.
General
DNA Manipulations
* Syntax: MUTATION <mutation> ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE * Allows user to activate the various abilities in Mutations. * 15 Ranks, each rank grants one manipulation point.
Arms
Claws
* Syntax: MUTATION CLAWS ACTIVATE * Grants claws as a melee weapon, REND <target>. * Mutation Points: 2 * Works with venom sacs, max 50% * 5 Ranks, each rank increases to hit and damage.
Club
* Syntax: MUTATION CLUB ACTIVATE * Grants turns forearm into a club, CLUB <target>. * Always targets head, can give knockdown/blackout/concussion depending on rank (random) and target head level. * Mutation Points: 3 * Works with venom sacs, max 35% * 5 Ranks, each rank increases to hit and damage.
Mucus
* Syntax: MUTATION MUCUS ACTIVATE * Produce large amounts of a thick mucus, GLOB <target>. * Webs target, time increases with rank. * Mutation Points: 3 * Works with venom sacs, max 15% * 3 Ranks, each rank increases to hit and length.
Head
Headbutt
* Syntax: MUTATION HEAD ACTIVATE * Thicken the forehead, HEADBUTT <target>. * Always targets head, does low damage. small chance of timed blind, low balance time(one sec, damage is really low), can be done if arms are off balance. * Mutation Points: 1 * 3 Ranks, each rank increases to hit and damage.
Antennae
* Syntax: MUTATION ANTENNAE ACTIVATE * Grow antennae, SENSE <target>. * Allows you to sense the location of a player (room name) * Mutation Points: 2 * 5 Ranks, each rank increases range player can be away (starts with 20 room radius, rank 3 same planet, rank 5 anywhere). At rank 3 tells you what area they are in, rank 5 what planet and area in addition to room name.
Back
Wings
* Syntax: MUTATION WINGS ACTIVATE * Grow wings, allows FLY. * Mutation Points: 2 * 3 Ranks, each rank increases max flying elevation (1-3).
Tentacles
* Syntax: MUTATION TENTACLES ACTIVATE * Grow large tentacles out of your back, GRAB <target>. * Holds a player in melee combat with you, must WRITHE to get out. They can still function as normal, but cannot run or retreat. Can only hold one person at a time. * Tentacles can also be broken via damage (more damage you take the higher chance they release), but taking damage releases toxins in the tentacles causing minor damage and if you have sacs a chance of releasing venoms. * Works with venom sacs, max 15% per hit. * Mutation Points: 3 * 5 Ranks, each rank increases the writhe time and damage required to break them.
Internals
Supercharged Liver
* Syntax: MUTATION LIVER ACTIVATE * Put your liver into overdrive, giving a chance of ignoring blood borne afflictions. * Mutation Points: 3 * 5 Ranks, each rank grants 3% chance
Rib Web
* Syntax: MUTATION RIBS ACTIVATE * Restructure your ribs to reduce damage. Grants damage resistance 2% for blunt and pierce, 1% for cutting. * Mutation Points: 3 * 5 Ranks, each rank increases blunt/pierce by 2% and cutting by 1%.
Reflexes
* Syntax: MUTATION REFLEXES ACTIVATE * Increases balance speed. * Mutation Points: 4 * 4 Ranks, each rank gives 0.5% balance bonus, and increases dodge by 1%.
Strength
* Syntax: MUTATION STRENGTH ACTIVATE * Increases strength. * Mutation Points: 4 * 4 Ranks, each rank grants increases str by <not saying> and gives a <not saying>% str damage bonus.
Venom Sacs
* Syntax: MUTATION SACS ACTIVATE * Gives venom chances to various abilities. * Mutation Points: 5 * 5 Ranks, each rank grants more possible venoms, all randomly used.
Skin
Thick Skin
* Syntax: MUTATION SKIN ACTIVATE * Thicken skin, gaining minor damage resistance. * Mutation Points: 1 * 3 Ranks, each rank grants 1% resistance to physical damage. At rank 3 also lowers bleeding by 5%.
Worm
* Syntax: MUTATION WORM ACTIVATE * Generate your own parasites to siphon your enemies healing powers. INFECT <target>. * Affliction, lowers the effect of all healing (health/mana/etc) pills/potions they use. * Mutation Points: 2 * 3 Ranks, each rank increases the amount they lower the effect by, at rank 3 you gain 25% of what the worm lowered. IE if they heal for 100 health, and the worm reduces that by 40 then you gain 10.
Shift
* Syntax: MUTATION SHIFT ACTIVATE * Gives you a chance to walk through barriers. * Mutation Points: 2 * 4 Ranks, each rank grants 20% chance to ignore walls/blocking/etc.
